Mapleton Track

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, (April 24th and 25th), fifth and sixth grade students had the opportunity to participate in the Mapleton Track Meet.  Students had the choice of events in which to participate, from running, to long jump to the softball throw.  In between events, they enjoyed the opportunity to cheer on their classmates.

Mrs. Adamson Awarded

Mrs. Adamson, the UEI teacher here at Maple Ridge, was given yet another award for her amazing work with the special needs students here at Maple Ridge.   Mrs. Adamson was awarded Utah's 2018 Best of State K-12 Teacher.  Congratulations Mrs. Adamson...AGAIN!

Production of "Beauty IS A Beast" at Maple Ridge

On Thursday, April 19th, Maple Ridge performed their production of "Beauty Is A Beast" for the school, and for parents.  "Beauty IS a Beast" is the story of Princess Beauty who is beautiful on the outside but ugly on the inside. Her fairy godmother decides to teach her a lesson by turning Beauty inside out. Audiences of all ages enjoyed this play with an important message... that true beauty comes from the heart.  Mrs. Sanders, and Ms.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Throughout the week of April 16th-20th, the Maple Ridge PTA sponsored a Teacher Appreciation Week.  Each day teachers were shown by parents, and students alike, just how much they are loved and appreciated.  Throughout the week, teachers enjoyed a drink from Fizz, a massage, cake pops, decorated doors, and special notes and gifts from the students.  On Tuesday, many students even took the time to dress like some of the teachers, and the teachers were able to dress like some of the students. On Wednesday, teachers were served a delicious breakfast of waffles and fru

Students Learn About Integrity

Mrs. Shumway, our school counselor, recently talked to all of the grade levels about the meaning of Integrity.  This will be the trait of focus through the month of April.  During their discussion, students compiled a list of words that would help them remember the meaning of INTEGRITY.

Scale Models in Math

Recently, students in Mrs. Bair's sixth grade math class have been reviewing proportions and ratios.  As a part of this unit of study, students were able to research a famous building, and make a scale model of it.  Students enjoyed being able to find a scale factor that would work for them, and find the materials to do it.

Medieval Day in Sixth Grade

On Thursday, April 12th, students in the sixth grade ended their unit of study of the Middles Ages, by having a day full of medieval activities.  These activities included donut jousting, goblet bedazzling, and launching marshmallows with popsicle stick catapults.  At the end of the day, students shared in a medieval feast consisting of chicken, bread, fruit and apple juice.
