5th Grade Participates in the Wax Museum

Submitted by becky.manning on Mon, 03/18/2024 - 10:44

Our 5th graders recently participated in our annual Wax Museum. Students researched a famous person and wrote a speech that they could give telling information about that person. They dressed up like the person they researched and then students and parents were able to come in and hear their speech. We are proud of all their hard work!

Parent Workshop: Advancing from Elementary to Middle School

Submitted by becky.manning on Sun, 03/10/2024 - 19:04

Parents often wonder if there is support available regarding transitions to Middle school, Jr. High, and High School. This free workshop will give parents tips and techniques to help them support their child as they transition to secondary levels in Nebo School District.

One of the most important skills we will be teaching parents in this workshop is student self-advocacy and the “dignity of risk!” See the flyer for more details.

Kindness Month

Submitted by becky.manning on Sun, 03/03/2024 - 20:46

February was Kindness Month at Maple Ridge. All month the Student Council had activities for the student body to participate in. We had Honk for Kindness mornings, a teacher appreciation station, prize cards for students and at the end of the month our 5th graders enjoyed watching the movie, “Wonder.” A big thank you to Ms. Paynter and our fifth grade teachers for helping us have a great month!

Scholastic Book Fair

Submitted by sara.matis on Wed, 02/28/2024 - 09:50

Our Spring Book Fair is one week away from opening! We are so excited to see you all there and hope you are able to drop by sometime. Our book fair runs purely on volunteer time and we still have some slots open that need to be filled. It is mostly just running a cash register and interacting with students and other parents. Please sign up if you can. Thanks!

Local Author Visits 4th Grade

Submitted by becky.manning on Fri, 02/23/2024 - 09:11

Mrs. Olson’s 4th grade class recently enjoyed a visit from Mrs. Montgomery. She came in and talked to our class about her experience of becoming a published author. She also talked about the importance of imagination, persistence, and hard work! We are grateful that she took time to come and spend some time with us!
