Maple Ridge 4th and 5th grade students who excel in math are invited to participate in our Mathlete Program–Math Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS). Each week students are provided with challenging and thought provoking mathematical problems designed to strengthen student’s mathematical skills. Each month participants take a math Olympiad and answer 5 challenging questions in 30 minutes.
Students in all fifty states, three US territories and in thirty foreign countries participate in the monthly math Olympiads. In all, this year 4,061 teams participated and there were approximately 90,000 participants.
Students who earned awards rank among the best mathematicians on their grade level. This year our first place student is Holland Hassan and second place was awarded to Isaac Wing.
Maple Ridge students participated in the Math Olympiads program under the supervision and coaching of Mrs. Berglund. Congratulations to all of our Mathletes on a job well done this year!
