Mrs. Olsen's Kindergarten class had fun this week building 2D and 3D shapes using marshmallows and toothpicks.
5th graders at Maple Ridge finished their social studies explorer unit by researching ships and sails. Students then had the opportunity to make their own ships, that they used to compete in our Raingutter Regatta.
SEP/Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up quickly! We are looking forward to the opportunity to meet with you to discuss student progress and set goals for continued student success. Our later evening conferences will take place on Wednesday, October 24 and the PTA Book Fair will be open during this time. Other dates during the week will be available after school to accomodate class size and schedules. If you are unable to meet during the available times, please contact your student's teacher to set up a time before or after school another time. Thank you!
Thank you to all of our PTA Carnival Sponsors for their generous donations! A special thank you to our awesome Carnival Committee and to all of you for making our basket auction and carnival a great success!
Sharing the love of reading is always bound to be fun. Last week our Kindergarten classes started buddy reading with 5th grade. The fifth graders and the kindergarteners both LOVE when they get to buddy read.
Students in Miss Anderson's fifth grade class passed off various writing skills and as they did so they were able to build mini hamburgers! #MRsmartkids #mapleridgepride
Maple Ridge sixth graders had an amazing time at the Clark Planetarium learning about a future mission to Mars and the various planets! In addition to learning so much, they also received the following email from Michelle Roberts at the planetarium: “I just wanted to pass on that multiple people on our staff remarked on how courteous and generally amazing your students were. They are awesome kids!” We agree! Our sixth graders are fantastic!
Thank you to everyone who has signed up to help to help with the carnival! We still have quite a few volunteer spots to fill please take a look and see if you can help.
