Congratulations to these Maple Ridge students for being our Students of the Month for October. These students were recognized for being a supportive friend. Well done! We are proud of you! For our Maple Ridge STRONG assembly this month, Mrs. Brindley arranged to have Ryan Stream come and talk to us from Stand4Kind. He talked about the importance of helping others and being a good friend. We had fun but learned a lot too. Thank you Mrs. Brindley and Mr. Stream for reminding us of these important things!

Recently our fourth graders enjoyed a visit from Discovery Gateway. They talked about amphibians and reptiles and about structures and the functions that help tiger salamanders and king snakes survive in their environments. We learned that king snakes mimic eastern coral snakes and that tiger salamanders breathe through their skin and go through metamorphosis. A big thank you to Discovery Gateway for such an interesting presentation!

Maple Ridge second graders recently went on a field trip to Gordos Fun Farm where they were able to learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin, see some animals, go through a corn maze, and explore other exciting activities.
