On Wednesday, May 23rd, the student body of Maple Ridge participated in their annual Cecil's Fun in the Sun Field Day festivities and activities. Not only did PTA parent volunteers come to help supervise activities, but several of the Maple Mountain High School student council, and student body, helped with these games as well. At the end of the day, students were able to cool down (courtesy of the fire department). Earlier on in the day, the sixth grade students played an intense game of kickball against many of the teachers. All in all, it was a very fun day!
Melanie Adamson, special education teacher at Maple Ridge, received the Best of State Award in Education recently at a black tie gala dinner, where she was recognized for being the top K-12 Teacher in the State of Utah. Congratulations Mrs. A!
Mrs. Hall Received the Maple Ridge PTA Outstanding Educator award for 2018-2019. Mrs. Hall teaches first grade at Maple Ridge. She is known for her dedication to teaching and spends countless hours ensuring that her students learn. Mrs. Hall is also loved and respected by her colleagues who notice she almost always has a smile on her face, and is kind to all around her.
Mrs. Adamson, the UEI teacher here at Maple Ridge, was given yet another award for her amazing work with the special needs students here at Maple Ridge. Mrs. Adamson was awarded Utah's 2018 Best of State K-12 Teacher. Congratulations Mrs. Adamson...AGAIN!
Throughout the week of April 16th-20th, the Maple Ridge PTA sponsored a Teacher Appreciation Week. Each day teachers were shown by parents, and students alike, just how much they are loved and appreciated. Throughout the week, teachers enjoyed a drink from Fizz, a massage, cake pops, decorated doors, and special notes and gifts from the students. On Tuesday, many students even took the time to dress like some of the teachers, and the teachers were able to dress like some of the students. Maple Ridge PTA would like to congratulate Mrs. Adamson, our UEI teacher for winning not only the Utah PTA Outstanding Teacher Award, for Region 10 (Nebo and Provo school districts), but winning the Utah PTA Outstanding Educator for the ENTIRE state of Utah (over 600 schools). Mrs. Adamson has been a special education teacher in Nebo school district since 2005, with a specialty in severe/profound disabilities. Our PTA believes that she works miracles that influence our entire community. Thank you for your service to our students Mrs. A.
Maple Ridge PTA recently won 3 awards from Region 10: Men Engaged, since we have amazing support from dads in our PTA, 100% Teacher/Staff Membership, due to all our teachers being members of our PTA and also an award for our fantastic 2017-2018 membership campaign. Great things are happening in the Maple Ridge PTA. Thank you to all our PTA members, teachers and staff for your continued support!!
On Thursday, September 21, the Maple Ridge PTA hosted the annual fundraising carnival. Parents, teachers, students braved the crazy weather to enjoy a fun carnival atmosphere. A themed basket silent auction took place as well. Each class in the school took donations for these baskets, to raise money for the school.
