On Monday, December 18th, members of Mapleton Junior High School band and orchestra performed for the students at Maple Ridge.

Magical things are happening at Maple Ridge. Not only have our hearts grown by three sizes but our tree has grown too!
On Friday, December 15th, Officer McCoy had fun with the sixth graders and showed them the vehicle he uses when on the job as a police officer. Since the beginning of the school year, Officer McCoy has come every week to talk to the students about the importance of maintaining positive values in life.
On Tuesday, December 12, students participating in the school orchestra and choir performed for the other students at Maple Ridge Elementary. The school also sang the Maple Ridge Christmas song. Sixth grade student Spencer Payne performed on the piano as the orchestra played as well.
Recently, students from each of the classes were recognized for their ability to show INITIATIVE. Each month the school focuses on an attribute that goes along with Maple Ridge P.R.I.D.E. (Perseverance, Respect, Initiative, Determination, Engaged.)
Sixth grade students presented their montly projects on Friday, December 1st. At the beginning of November, students were given the assignment of researching a planet, or any celestial object having to do with the solar syster, and creating a physical display to go with it. This project was assigned to help reinforce sixth grade core science concepts.
Students in fifth grade were recently privileged to learn some science from representatives with Discovery Gateway.
