We held our 9th Annual Maple Ridge Gobble Off today! Congratulations to Allie Jensen, Nolan Peterson, and Steele Hansen for being this year's winners. They each took home a turkey to their family. We are grateful for our Maple Ridge students and parents and we wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving!
For Red Ribbon Week, we learned about keeping our bodies healthy. A wonderful parent volunteer came into our class and taught us how to add more fruits and vegetables into our meals. We learned what to eat to be kind to our bodies and brains. We also did a little activity with exercise. The best part of the lesson was shopping in our classroom! They got to pick healthy foods, fun outside toys, a recreation pass, waterbottle, and sunglasses. This amazing Maple Ridge parent got donations from many local businesses and the kids loved the lesson.
Maple Ridge 4th graders were recently taught about fossils with a visit from the Natural History Museum.
Mrs. Jensen’s 5th grade used manipulatives to create and develop ideas, descriptive details and characters in preparation for a narrative write.
