Students in Miss Stokes’ class read “If I Ran the Zoo” by Dr. Seuss and then had to decide how tall the animal’s cages should be using cubes, tiles and counters! They learned how to measure by tiling and estimating!
Students in Mrs. Southam's class did a science inquiry lesson on habitats. They looked for patterns of living things and wrote down their observations. Each group found out that the animals were separated into categories based on their habitats. They found similarities between the animals that told students more about the environments that the animals lived in.
These Maple Ridge students were our students of the month for March. They were recognized for being generous. We are proud of them! (Not pictured: Reese Robinson, Kai Cook, Thea Eppich, Maddie Puntsag, Willow Wilson, Boston Hill, and Lorelei Peterson)
Mrs. Gatley, one of our wonderful front office secretaries, was recently recognized by Craig Harvey of Horace Mann as our Maple Ridge Classified Employee of the year. Mrs. Gatley is one of a kind! She works with parents, students, and teachers and staff every day. You can often find her fixing up skinned knees, tying shoes, answering phones, laminating, copying, providing a listening ear, tutoring students, problem solving, even hairstyling! Mrs. Gatley does it all and Maple Ridge would not be what it is without her! She takes such good care of all of us! Congratulations Mrs. Gatley!
