STEM Christmas Trees

Mrs. Rasmussen's 3rd grade class used their STEM skills to construct a Christmas Tree with just toothpicks and Dots candy!  It was exciting to use collaborative thinking and working skills to construct a tasty tree.

Reflections Winners (Council Level)

These students participated in the PTA Reflections Contest at the School Level and then their entries went on to win at the Council Level as well! We are so proud of them! Two of our students received an Award of Merit: Riley Peterson for 2D artwork and Max Dimond for film. The following students won an Award of Excellence and have advanced to the Region Level of competition: David Higginson for 3D art, Emmy Sonntag for Photography, Kelly Trudeau, Lincoln Olson, and Victoria Carlson for Dance, and Holland Hassan and Reese Petersen for 2D art.

Penny Wars are Coming!

Maple Ridge Student Council is holding a Penny War from Monday, Dec. 12- Friday, Dec. 16. We will be having a fun and friendly competition between classes but also helping our community! All funds will go to the Utah Food and Care Coalition. 

Crystal Apple Winner: Darlene Mathews

Maple Ridge fourth grade teacher, Darlene Mathews was recognized this week as our 2022 Crystal Apple winner. Mrs. Mathews has taught both 5th and 4th grades at Maple Ridge. Her team said, "Darlene makes coming to work a pleasure. Her smile and witty humor helps get us through even the roughest days. She thinks outside of the box when she plans her lessons and teaches in fun and creative ways." Mrs. Mathews is a well-loved and talented teacher. We are lucky to have her at Maple Ridge! Congratulations Mrs. Mathews!

Learning U.S. History is Fun!

Fifth grade wrapped up their Revolutionary War simulation just before Thanksgiving Break. They made puppets of influential Loyalists and Patriots in preparation for a speed learning activity where they had conversations with each other. Following this activity was the Revolutionary war...Battleship style.
