Sixth Grade Visits Christa McAuliffe Space Center

On September 17th, all three sixth grade classes had the opportunity to visit the Christa McAuliffe Space Center in Pleasant Grove.  Students particated in a space-like flight simulation where each student had specific responsiblities aboard the simulator.  They also were able to learn about the stars and constellations in the planetarium dome. 

Constitution Day Fun!

On September 17, 1787, the U.S. Constitution was signed by thirty-nine brave men who changed the course of history. Now Constitution Day is a time for us to continue their legacy and develop habits of citizenship in a new generation of Americans.  As a way to celebrate this day, Mr. Bates' sixth grade class wrote the preamble with a quill and ink.

Math with Basketball

Students in Mrs. Bair's sixth grade class recently learned about unit rates.  In order to apply what they learned, they went outside to calculate the unit rate of baskets made per minute.

United Way Day of Caring

On September 10th, volunteers with United Way Day of Caring came to Maple Ridge to give service.  This came in the form of painting games out on the playground.  Dozens of volunteers gave several hours to provide our students with fun recess activities.
