Author Visit

Submitted by becky.manning on

Author J. Scott Savage visited our school today! He has written a book that is a continuation of Alice in Wonderland called, "The Lost Wonderland Diaries." When asked who his favorite Alice in Wonderland character is, Scott said the Mad Hatter. So in honor of his visit, we made Mad Hatter top hats in library this week! #mapleridgepride #riseup #missionpossible #NeboSchoolDistrict #StudentSuccess #EngageStudents #FocusonStudents #LoveUTpublicschools #UtEd #Loveteaching

Dancing Rice Science Experiment

Submitted by becky.manning on

Fourth graders in Mrs. Olson's fourth grade class did a dancing rice science experiment and it was fantastic! Students had to mix the correct amounts of the ingredients together to create a chemical reaction and make their rice "dance." Their reactions were the best part! #mapleridgesmartkids #mapleridgepride #missionpossible #riseup #NeboSchoolDistrict #StudentSuccess #EngageStudents #FocusonStudents #LoveUTpublicschools #UtEd #Loveteaching

Make a Mark!

Submitted by becky.manning on

"Just make a mark and see where it takes you!" Students in Ms. Jordan's second grade read an all time favorite book, "The Dot" by Peter Reynolds. It taught students about believing in themselves, being creative and never giving up. Each student was given a black dot and had to create a picture from it. It was so fun to see the creativity and imagination from these 2nd graders!

Creative Problem Solving

Submitted by becky.manning on

Ms. Paynter's class was challenged to save a dear friend, Fred, who was stuck on on overturned boat. Students rose to the challenge and came up with creative ways to save Fred using only three paperclips.
