On Monday, October 31st, students kicked off Red Ribbon Week, and Halloween, by having a school-wide parade through the school in their costumes.  The theme for Red Ribbon Week was to "Say BOO to BAD HABITS."  Throughout the day, most classrooms celebrated Halloween with parties and Halloween related activities.

On Thursday, October 27th, Dads were invited to come and eat donuts with their children at the school.  This activity coincides with the book fair that has been going on throughout the week and will end on Friday.

Throughout the week of October 24th through October 28th, Maple Ridge student council members will be selling Ghostie Grams to students who want to send a special spooky message to their friends around the school.  You can send a Ghostie Gram for 25 cents each, or send 5 for $1.00.

On Friday, October 14th, an assembly was held to celebrate Maple Ridge PRIDE, and to reward students through a raffle drawing for prizes.  Since the beginning of the school year, Teresa Jordan, a facilitator at Maple Ridge, has met with students in the school to determine what constitutes pride, and how we can show it.  After meeting with students, teachers and faculty, it was determined that the acronym PRIDE would represent PERSEVERANCE, RESPECT, INITIATIVE, DETERMINATION, and being ENGAGED in learning.

Our fourth grade students at Maple Ridge recently had the opportunity to travel to the Utah State Capitol for a tour as part of the Capitol's 100th years celebration.  Students were privileged to hear from Utah Congressman Chris Stewart.
