Bethany Silver, author of Unicorns of Udithia, visited with sixth grade students recently.  She told the students about the storyline of her book, and the main character Aquarion. She also shared her story of how she wrote the book, and where she came up with the idea.  Her sister, Elizabeth, also an illustrator, talked about her artwork on the cover of the book.  Both Bethany and Elizabeth are from Mapleton.

Students Who Show Initiative Recognized

Submitted by monica.bair on

One to two students from every classroom were recently recognized for showing INITIATIVE. INITIATIVE is one of the Maple Ridge Pride characteristics.  These students are consistently motivated to stay on task, and work hard to do their best! They know what needs to be done, and don't have to be asked twice. Each student recognized was given a treat along with a certificate.
