Maple Ridge and East Meadows collected food to honor Nate Carr and help those in need this Christmas. Thank you to all who sent in food, we were able to fill 4 bins and provide food to those in our community. Nate loved serving those around him and this was a wonderful way to remember him and serve those in need.
 

Mrs. Steen's 5th grade class enjoyed talking with a local author, Celesta Rimington, shortly after reading one of her novels. They were able to ask her questions about how she wrote the book and why some characters did what they did.  They received some great tips to become writers and are excited to read more of her books.
 

Mrs. Dawnean Allen was recently recognized as our 2023-24 Maple Ridge Classified Employee by Craig Harvey from Horace Mann Insurance. Mrs. Allen is a technician in Mrs. Schmidt's resource room. She has worked at Maple Ridge for several years and is well-loved. Dawnean is reliable, hard-working, kind, and willing to help out with whatever we need. Since most of Mrs. Allen's day is spent in the resource room helping teach students, she is not seen a lot in the hallways at Maple Ridge, but we want her to know that her efforts do not go unnoticed! We love Mrs.

December was a great month at our school! We are grateful for all the wonderful parents who volunteered with parties and treats and helped us have a great Christmas season. We are especially thankful for our fabulous students and can't wait to see everyone back on January 8th.
