To raise money for the student council, students at Maple Ridge will be able to participate in the Penny Wars. Each grade level will have a jar in front of the offices before school from 8:35-8:55. Students can put in pennies to count as points for their grade level, but students from OTHER grades can counteract those points with silver change and/or dollar bills. The winning grade level will get a game/rootbeer float party.
On Thursday, February 18th, several students in fifth and sixth grade chose to participate in the science fair. This year, the science fair was optional to students in the upper grades. A few of the projects were chosen to represent Maple Ridge in the district fair which will be held on Tuesday, February 23rd.
This week, members of the student council are selling and delivering Val-O-Grams to the students at Maple Ridge. Students, parents and teachers are able to purchase Val-O-Grams for others before school for 25 cents each, or five for $1.00. This will last through Friday, February 12th.
On Monday, January 11th, students at Maple Ridge were entertained by a magician to kick off the Care-A-Palooza event.
