Sunday, October 16th was Boss' Day and we were on Fall Break, so we celebrated today instead! We are so grateful for Mrs. Matis and truly believe she goes the extra mile for faculty, staff, and students. We love you Mrs. Matis! Thanks for all you do to make Maple Ridge such a great school!
Mrs. Sanders' 4th graders have recently been learning about fossils and they did an art project depicting a leaf trapped in tree sap. It was a fun way to recreate something that happened thousands of years ago!
Recently in Mrs. Cheever's kindergarten students learned about characters, setting, plot, problem and solution. They also worked on retelling the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The students made little puppets and created their own bridge to retell the story to a friend. It was a fun activity with lots of talking and great accents.
Wednesday was such a fun day at Maple Ridge! Jaker’s Harward Farms brought a pumpkin for each of our 750+ Maple Ridge students. The students were so excited and loved their pumpkins. Thank you so much Harward Farms!
First Graders in Mrs. Williams class were treated to a fun filled week before Fall Break. They learned about bats and spiders and practiced writing informational paragraphs about them. They also celebrated Room on the Broom Day and go to make their own witch craft and spooky witch’s brew to eat. Happy Fall!
Maple Ridge students were privileged to have Mr. J Lynn Jones visit for our monthly S.T.R.O.N.G. assembly. Mr. Jones is a well-known member of our Nebo School District family and we are thankful to have him in our building when he is able to come. During this assembly, he talked about being a supportive friend. (A big thank you to our wonderful school counselor, Mrs. Brindley, who plans these assemblies for us each month!)
In kindergarten we have been learning about 2D shapes! Mrs. Love’s class used basic 2D shapes to create pictures of houses and animals!
Fifth grade recently celebrated Fun Friday for students who had no missing assignments. Students built and launched paper rockets to celebrate all of the hard work they have done.
