February was Kindness Month at Maple Ridge. All month the Student Council had activities for the student body to participate in. We had Honk for Kindness mornings, a teacher appreciation station, prize cards for students and at the end of the month our 5th graders enjoyed watching the movie, “Wonder.” A big thank you to Ms. Paynter and our fifth grade teachers for helping us have a great month!

Our Spring Book Fair is one week away from opening! We are so excited to see you all there and hope you are able to drop by sometime. Our book fair runs purely on volunteer time and we still have some slots open that need to be filled. It is mostly just running a cash register and interacting with students and other parents. Please sign up if you can. Thanks!

Mrs. Olson’s 4th grade class recently enjoyed a visit from Mrs. Montgomery. She came in and talked to our class about her experience of becoming a published author. She also talked about the importance of imagination, persistence, and hard work! We are grateful that she took time to come and spend some time with us!

As part of Kindness Month at Maple Ridge, we had an assembly by Hale’s Adventure Writers. This musical assembly taught our students to celebrate diversity, embrace differences, and build resilience. Thank you Hale Center Theater Orem for coming!

Kindergarten celebrated the 100th Day of Kindergarten on Friday, February 2. They had a great day learning about and doing activities with the number 100. They made Fruit Loop necklaces with 100. They rotated to the other kindergarten classes where they built with 100 cups, blocks, Lincoln Logs, did 100 exercises, made 100 Day crowns, and played “100 seconds to win it games”. It was a special day!

Nebo School District is offering a virtual "Parenting the Love and Logic Way Workshop" on Wednesdays in March. This course is highly recommended for parents and the class will be capped at 50 participants. See the flyer for more details. 

We are enjoying many great activities this month to remind us about the importance of kindness. Last week Mr. Jones read the book, "It's Never Too Late to be Nice" to our students. Thank you for coming, Mr. Jones!

Maple Ridge 5th graders recently participated in the science fair. There were so many interesting and well-researched projects. Thanks to our school judges and others for visiting and giving students the opportunity to share their research and findings.
