Just ask anyone at a well run school, and they will tell you that the secretaries make the biggest difference. Maple Ridge is lucky to have the finest in Jen Gatley, and Wendy Simmons. To show appreciation for all of their hard work, the front office was decorated, and the secretaries were given angel regalia to wear throughout the day.

Ririe Woodbury Dance

On Monday, April 25th, members of the Ririe Woodbury company came to Maple Ridge to teach students some of the elements of contemporary dance. Some of these elements included space, shape and time. Throughout the assembly, several students had the opportunity to demonstrate dance movements.

Wendy Simmons Awarded Employee of the Year

Wendy Simmons, our amazing secretary, was awarded the Classified Employee of the Year here at Maple Ridge.  You can't help but smile when you are around Wendy.  She is constantly happy, and will help anyone in any way she can.  Mrs. Simmons has had the difficult challenge of opening a new elementary school this year, but she has done it while making everyone's lives easier.  Kaylie Sanders, a student in the sixth grade, says, "Mrs. Simmons is just so kind and loving and is always there for others."

Wendy is also known for her creativity and talent in making pretty much just about anything, from remodeling furniture, to making jewelry.  Her talents never cease.  We are so fortunate as faculty, staff and students to have Mrs. Simmons at our school.
